Not for permanent businesses. However, temporary or transient businesses should check with City personnel to inquire if they need a license.

I just opened an account at one address six months ago and paid a deposit. Why do I have to pay another deposit at the new house?
Deposits stay with the property address. Deposits can not be transferred from one account to another. The deposit is credited toward the final bill. Any credit remaining will be mailed approximately two weeks after the final billing cycle.

I made a payment recently and it doesn't reflect on my latest bill, why?
If you made a payment close to the due date printed on the bill, it may not have been included in the current billing.

My house is currently vacant (not currently rented, away on vacation, etc.). Why do I have to pay a monthly fee?
The City of Prineville's Ordinance does not have a "vacancy" provision.

My water was turned off for non-payment and I wanted to pay the public works crew member the amount I owed the City. Why didn't he/she accept the money?
Our public works crew is not allowed to accept payments of any kind from customers. All payments must be presented to the City Hall.

Who do I call in case of a water or sewer emergency?
For after-hours water emergencies, please call the City of Prineville Public Works at 541-447-7844. For any emergencies during normal business hours, please call City Hall at 541-447-5627.

Why did I get a late penalty on my bill? Don't you have a grace period?
There is no grace period. All current bills are due and payable on the due date printed on the payment stub, on the 15th of the month.
