Community Policing
The Prineville Police Department is committed to delivering exceptional service through a community policing philosophy, fostering strong partnerships with citizens and community leaders.
Our Community Service Officers (CSOs) play a vital role in supporting this mission by serving as a bridge between the community and the department.
Core Responsibilities:
Community Service Officers assist sworn officers with a variety of tasks, including:
- Responding to and investigating animal-related offenses
- Assisting with traffic collisions and other lower-priority calls
- Investigating city ordinance violations
- Preserving, protecting, and transporting evidence
- Assisting at crime scenes
- Community Engagement Activities
CSOs are actively involved in fostering community relationships and crime prevention through:
- Acting as a liaison between the community and the police department
- Participating in community events, such as May Market, Faith & Blue, Shop with a Cop, and Crook County Fair
- Supporting crime prevention programs
Through these efforts, Community Service Officers help enhance safety, build trust, and maintain a strong connection between the Prineville Police Department and the citizens we proudly serve.
