Overview

The Code Enforcement Division is staffed and handled by Community Service Officers. Community Service Officers are responsible for Code Enforcement and Community Policing. Community Service Officers are tasked with enforcing city code ordinances. These include but are not limited to; animal nuisances, noxious vegetation, junk, rubbish, and signs. 

Community Service Officers assist sworn officers with lower priority calls. This includes responding to traffic collisions, neighborhood issues, lost or found property, animals at large, and parking issues. 

A large part of the Community Service Officers job is community policing. This includes crime prevention work, neighborhood watch, and public relation activities.
